Lost in the enchantment of snow ,completely disorganised,I didn’t have my camera handy to snap the beautiful visitor in our garden.Yes, it was a Scarlet Robin ,skipping and hopping around. When the camera was there (s)he had disappeared. How sad; I might be lucky enough next time. The only thing I could do , was to put a handful of sesame seeds for it ,in case it came back some time later on. Disappointed as I was , I decided to insert a couple of photos via Wikipedia. (S)He was absolutely the same and just by looking at it on my post I find solace……OK, no more tears it will come back some other day along with other birds which visit us regularly.
- Now, looking at both photos carefully ,I can see that the white part under the orange or coral chest wasn’t so obvious ,which means IT WAS A SHE….. and her name is: Pendelikitsa…That’s what crossed my mind automatically. My granddaughter suggested that we should find her husband immediately and give him a name too…We shall my sweet heart, we shall find him some time and we shall give him a felicitous name…
Very beautiful photos. I love the last photo very much – so beautiful landscape.

i suggest that u name him just ”pirate”!because of the famous fairy tale ”o kokkinogenis peiratis” and also beacuse he will make an invasion to your garden just like a pirate in a remote island!what do u think about it??

OMG!!! That’s Def,Phat,Cool . I ,so much, admire your wild imagination and the story behind the name. However if we want to be exact we must take under consideration the fact that the bird’s name has to do with the neck and not with any beard.Anyway is not that bad and we avoid the vanilla names…..Take your time .I am sure we can find something exciting until he invades the garden in the pursuit of his sweet mate.Much Love and Merry Xmas
