Till the salt, wild waters boiled and the spray was thin on the blast,
And the undertow swept out, laughing at strength like mine,
Till I rode to shore on a wave that stung with its hurtled brine

  8. I didn’t know you wrote poetry. What beautiful imagery. I love the opening line:
“Cleaving the blues in the Ionian Sea Beyond the Breakers and Far from the Human Swarm and Mortal Folly …” Beautiful! and “I felt the sea in me, with me, as waves were rolling out caressing the shore, becoming one with the greens and the massive rocks on their thrones.” You have a talent with words. I can also relate with your poetry because I grew up by the Caribbean seas…What beautiful place you live in and what affinity with Physis.

    • Hi dear Maria ! Glad you came by 🙂 I don’t write poetry my sweet friend, simply when beauty becomes tantalizing and the eyes are helpless you borrow some of your favourite verses that cross your mind in order to express the overwhelming and intense feelings that flood your soul and you feel the need to share with those who are near and dear to you … I can’t bear the weight of unexpressed feelings.Hope you can discern my very own words,my own expressions.
Love the Caribbean blues you grew up and can feel why you relate with my sea stories and the blue tonalities …
Greece is beautiful and generously endowed by nature and by the Aristotelian concept of Physis … Oh dear Maria ! I love Physis,I love Nature and nature … I love them all and have never stop observing and studying them …

Long sometimes do I wish to float upon the ocean and let her gentle swell carry me far away… I loved especially the photo of the rocks that tell of time’s stories…. I wonder who they have seen past them.. What stories they could tell about the many who have travelled past…

Loved this entry Doda.. Thank you for sharing.. 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed my sea-thoughts and the rock’s time stories.Once, the king of Ithaka lived near there and the rocks have seen glories, they can rewrite Homer … The azure Ionian waters travel you back in time and you start following Odysseus’ footprints and recall the Homeric epics. It’s then when you float upon the ocean and let her gentle swell carry you far away … Your pithy comment was a nice supplement to my post.Thank you, dear Sue !
