Barcelona Colours …
Looking at Barcelona’s Architectural Gems and Gaudi’s Expression in Art and in Monumental Architecture
Barcelona is Gaudi,or Gaudi is Barcelona ?
Casa Batlló Facade ( 1905-1907 ) Gaudi Art Nouveau
The Skulls and Bones undulating facade with designs like the surface of a lake with water lilies and having the colours of natural corals.Actually the Skulls are the balconies and the Bones the supportive pillars.Gaudi’s distinctive and unique architectural style was a great contribution to the early 20th century architecture and to Modernism.Reflections caused by coloured glass and ceramic mosaics are associated with the culture and the artistic currents of his time in Catalonia. His distinctive architectural style is admired around the world and his gothic creations have greatly influenced the overall character of the city.
” My client is not in a hurry “
One of his most notable works is the iconic temple Sagrada Familia which has been under construction since 1882 and as Gaudi characteristically said : ” My client is not in a hurry ” …
Imposing Roman Catholic church combining Gothic and Curvilinear Art Nouveau. The Passion Facade and the Nativity Facade do take your breath away.
Barcelona and Architectural Gems …
A big dynamic city with its own character, well known throughout the world as a cultural city with a rich architectural and monumental heritage and with works that have been declared part of the world heritage by the UNESCO.
Seeing Barcelona Colours from an Artistic Angle and through Gaudi’s Architectural Perspective …
A Barcelona post especially dedicated to my sweet WordPress friend Amy who is soon leaving for Spain.

Have a safe and enjoyable journey to Spain Amy ♥♥♥
not in a hurry is an understatement…eternity was his canvas.
