Sacred Geometry & Pure Light …

Pure Light & Architecture :

When I Need more Pure Light I usually Climb up the Sacred Rocky Hill …

Ascending the heights of hidden knowledge for the evolution of the mind beyond the visible and admitting that Geometry and Maths penetrate the universe and are eternal like the mind of God.

“Let none enter here who are ignorant of Geometry ” was inscribed over the entrance to Plato’s Academy. There are no such inscriptions here and free as you feel,you go up to the Sacred Hill where the Acropolis of Athens stands.

Treading the Upward Path Of Knowledge ...

The Parthenon or : Harmony & Symmetry

A Universal Symbol of Classical Spitit

A Universal Symbol of Classical Spirit

Enduring under the always Blue Skies of Attica where the Sun is always Shining ...

Enduring under the always Blue Skies of Attica where the Sun is always Shining …

The Principal Temple on the Acropolis,The Parthenon :

✺ The Uniqueness of a Temple on the Level of Aesthetics under the Blue skies of Attica where the Sun is always Shining …

✺ Sublime Aesthetic Structure completed in 438 BCE and dedicated to Athena,the patron goddess of Athens.
Each column to my eyes … History,Arts, Philosophy … Sophocles,Socrates,Plato,Aristotle,Pericles ….

✺ A Doric Temple of Majestic Proportion and Built to extremely Precise Dimensions according to the Mathematical Ratios of Sacred Geometry.

✺ An Enduring Monument ,a Universal Symbol of the Classical Spirit Radiating Purity and Perfection … a Symbol of Humanism….
✺ Each time I visit , I feel the same awe …

One,two,three,four,five & some tears for the expatriated sister …

The Erechtheion on the Acropolis

The Erechtheion on the Acropolis

Caryatides from the Erechtheion on the Acropolis (421-406 BCE) :

The Erechtheion is an Ionic Temple on the north side of the Acropolis and it was dedicated to Athena and Poseidon.It is opposite the Parthenon and it was built entirely of marble from Mount Penteli.The Caryatides (each one sculpted in a different manner ) supported the roof of the south porch of the Erechtheion, in place of the typical columns and they were holding it with elegance and grace.Today only copies of the Caryatides are shown. The 5 original ones are displayed in the New Acropolis Museum

Tetrastyle Temples & Athena Nike

Temple of Athena Nike

Temple of Athena Nike

Temple of Athena Nike ( Victorious Athena) ,Constructed of White Marble around 420 BCE .

~~~ It is the first Ionic structure on the Acropolis where the Athenians could worship the Goddess of Victory in hope of prosperous outcomes in the wars. It is a Tetrastyle ( four column ) Temple with colonnaded porticoes in the front and back. ~~~
Experimenting with mono :
More Classic and Artistic,I suppose,but where are my very Blue Skies and the Pure Light ?
  10. Enjoyed the photos and info. I visited the Parthenon some years ago while it was being renovated. Earlier this year I was in Nashville, Tennessee where there is an exact replica of the original temple… it was stunning and unexpected.
