What a lovely post, Doda, and perfect for Women’s Day. The images are beautiful and your words are incredibly thought provoking. The status of women has improved so much in recent years for many women around the world. Unfortunately, there are still many others for whom the struggle for equality has a long way to go. Even in more ‘modern’ societies, true equality hasn’t fully been realised. I particularly liked your quotes. They’ve given me something to ponder on. 😀

Glad you enjoyed it Millie, and so many thanks for your rich comment and for sharing your own interpretations and your thoughts with us.Multisided Her role in family and in society, but sometimes they are unsung heroines. The status of women has improved in recent years as you said but there is still discrimination in several fields worldwide. And,it not only the laws that protect and promote Her it also has to do with people’s mentality and the way we bring up our children who are the future of our world.Best to you, Doda

Thank you Roslyn for your always interesting remarks and your advanced thoughts.Yes,the Sphinx without a Secret simply reveals that we are talking about HER on this specific Day,Her Day,but we must not forget that the “Sphinx” is reported to have had many riddles and was moulded out of many many mysteries. Her veil might be invisible but it’s always down,”SHE” still remains an enigmatic figure …

I don’t think that they intentionally keep any secrets, they simply wait for others to discover the multi-sided folds of her character,of her soul, which are generously endowed by nature… Always great the pleasure I get from your response to such complex issues, and I do treasure and respect all your aspects.Btw,I do the same today, but it seems endless …

Oh,Yvette my friend, you are always so consistent and kind!Thank you so much you appreciate the contact we have,I want you to know that it is mutual.I really enjoyed the overall look of your last post in May.It gave me the chance to enjoy your recent work which I had missed. And those “Linda Roses” were so beautiful!Linda, our mutual blogging friend is such a sweet and kind lady. However,I was a bit upset when I read about the loss of your “furry kid” … Since you have another one, from what I read, things will be better emotionally wise … Pets are our family and when they “leave” us,it’s very stressful.Looking forward to your new work.Have a splendid day 🙂

Thanks dear Doda!!
And cheers to Linda (and u! – and I should have some flowers to those that joined me on my A to Z – so hmmmm – thinking -)
And thanks for the condolences – we are all adjusting and the first wave of it all was most intense because it was rather unexpected (if that makes sense) and we have not had tons of animals come and go like some folks – and while it is never easy – I think folks who have tons of Pets have more experience and all that! The good news is that I feel so much more equipped to counsel others about grief – I think I always did ago (back in 2001 I had a job where “grief workshops” we’re one of my duties – and they trained us and we had excellent books from “hazelden” materials but this very personal experiences has seasoned me so much – and side note – I learned also about processing and how when we work thru things we end up more “well” and so I thank my sweet woofy friend for that too!
Have a great day and thx again – 💕

Hi there again, dear Yvette! It seems you are another gem like Linda and so generous with your brilliant roses and your nice words.I read with great interest all about the “grief workshops” you attended and I can really understand your role after the training.I strongly believe that being in grief after a loss is a natural process and our brain starts producing some certain substances which prepare us to accept the fact gradually.
We have to let it go but we feel uncomfortable when it’s inhibited by different factors.Of course I am not talking about excessive situations where people need help by specialists.Obviously, the experience you gained during the training made you look at life from another perspective and then you would help others to go smoothly through it.So many thanks for telling me about the “grief workshops” and your personal experience there.Take care,my good friend.Have a wonderful Friday and a splendid weekend 🙂 ❤

Well just a side note – there were about ten workshops and in hindsight I liked the job so much more! Actually I thought I rushed into taking it and then —- you know —-how later we see it was juts what we needed??!
Anyhow – of the ten plus workshops – one of my favs was this one on enticing life – and the little tidbits wee very fun! Like sometimes making up a holiday to share with family or a small group of friend -and knowing when to abandon certain traditions that weigh down – but I digress – ahhh
Have a great weekend 😌🌸🌸🌸🌸

Such a cheerful and optimist side note.I am with you,my friend, presumably the hindsight was the one you needed then, but the one on “enticing life” is life itself in all its dimensions and especially the ability to find happiness in everyday ordinary things and wee happy moments.I so much enjoyed the interaction we had.And a bit digression can be very constructive oftentimes.Happy weekend ✿ڿڰۣ(̆̃̃ღ❣

Or,great minds think alike lol … It’s summer in here(actually the Meteorogical summer as the Astronomical summer starts in June 21st and the same happens with all seasons everywhere,I am sure you know that….
( https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/news/meteorological-versus-astronomical-summer%E2%80%94what%E2%80%99s-difference) …..
Btw,I do believe in telepathy and I am serious about that.We are not going to analyse it in here, now, but we all know how our thoughts and our sentiments are carried in the universe like waves.Hidden Powers like your little shining sun in the cosmos of your garden and your emotive verses.Enjoy the blessings of the rain and have a splendid weekend.Summer hugs and smiles back to you 🙂 ❤ xxx

Yes, I remember the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere. Thanks for the link. So, the astronomical seasons are based on the position of the Earth in relation to the sun, whereas the meteorological seasons are based on the annual temperature cycle. I finally know why the seasons in Australia start on the first day of the month… Your Summer hugs will keep me warm like warm sunshine , which I haven’t seen for days. I’m sending you just Hugs, not the cold and rain. 🙂 ❤ xxxx

Beautiful tribute,dear Doda… I love the presentation…
Plato was a misogynist… but I guess Socrates´position towards women was more positive…He had a huge devotion towards her teacher, Diotima…

Good question and an unresolved enigma,at the same time, dear Aquileana.Difficult to thoroughly expand on the subject in this reply space. How contradictoty it is,when the same consistent philosopher can on the one hand assert that the female sex was created from the souls of the most wicked and irrational men,and on the other hand make a radical proposal for the equal education and social role of the two sexes and that women should be included among the exalted philosophical rulers of the ideal state …
Many perceive Plato’s views about women as rather liberal and his ideas on equality lie solely in the nature of humans concerning the differences between the two sexes.
As for the female philosopher,Diotima, she had a significant influence on Socrates. He acknowledged her wisdom and shared what she taught him about beauty and love.Thank you for your insightful remarks and for looking at the illusionary colours of the post 🙂 xxx

The history behind this Day is long and well-known,Her multiple roles, Her contribution to socioeconomics and political achievements are widely recognised although the gender gap is still open … .
I wanted something different today, dear Su,something bright and colourful.Thank you for appreciating my efforts to look at Her in a different way.Best wishes to you, dear friend 🙂 xxx

Yes, so true. Perhaps one day equality will be achieved and we will no longer need one specific day to recognise and celebrate women. xx

Statistics have estimated that the gap wouldn’t close entirely until 2133.It might be earlier,if we take action to accelerate it instead of celebrating the Day. xxx

Every time I think I’m seeing progress in one area, something happens to make me wonder in another. Domestic and sexual violence are areas where NZ has a terrible record, and there is a real culture of victim-blaming. I listen to some of the young men I know and realise they aren’t making the connection between violence “out there” and real women they know — like their sisters and mothers. Sigh. xx

I know, and from what I read progress has slowed in many places across the world, but I’m shocked to hear that domestic and sexual violence are so highly in NZ.I’d expect that some organisations could really help. It’s really sad that young men look at the hideous incidents only on the surface and are unable to make deeper connections,it shows apathy and lack of concern. In the Greek language we have a poignant and strong word to describe their attitude, which is sort of counterculture:Ωχαδερφισμός = ochaderfismos=zamanfou, the well-known French cliche (je m’en fous) … xxx

Wonder if any other woman, today, looked at Her the way I did.Limitless Her potential,I know,I am not in favour of essentialism, but I wanted to paint the Day with colours,to interpret some brushstrokes as manifested in paintings for Her … Thank you, dear Hariod 🙂 .*¨`•

Very beautiful, Doda dear! I love your eloquent words and photos. Both say wonderfully about her charms and grace. The painting is a perfect choice for “…,Her Light, the Blossoms of her Secret Garden”! Happy March 8th. Thank you for sharing! 🙂 ❤ xxx

We have much to celebrate today, dear Amy,the status of women is advanced and recognised worldwide, the history behind this Day long and glorious, but my temperament determined a different approach to Her Day and the beauty of Her soul, which shapes up societies and peacefully struggles for peace and any kind of equality.I marked the Day with colours and allegorical paintings and photos, and I am so glad I shared them with you and found response.Thank you so much for appreciating and interpreting it with your own insightful way, dear Amy 🙂 ❤ xxx

Thank you for explaining to me! This made you post even more special. Your approach is deeper that most of us don’t recognized it. It really has been a long struggle for the peace and equality. Sadly to say, many are still struggling painfully. But, you are able to express eloquently. Thank you so much for your beautiful thought, dear friend. 🙂 ❤ xxx
