World Peace is an issue of cosmopolitan import …
It was on the 18th of August 2017 that down Ras Ramblas sad events wrote a tragedy again.Hearbreak and sorrow – the Angels of Numbers pensive …
I let down my guard and kept travelling unafraid. In a couple of weeks after the tragic incidents the Arch of Victory in Barcelona was welcoming visitors again.
The Arc de Triomf in the capital of Catalonia was built as the main access gate for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair. The architect Josep Vilaseca designed a monument of classical style and proportions as an allegory of Barcelona’s respect for the nations and provinces taking part in the exhibition.
Down Ras Ramblas St. people kept bringing flowers and candles for the innocent souls.
It was here , then … on a peaceful summer day that the Angels of Numbers were pensive … They started flying above the Blackboard from 1 to 2,from 2 to 3,from 3 to 4, cold chalk and sponges in their hands …
Fate was standing near them unpitied … She snatched the numbers from 1 to 2,from 2 to 3,from 3 to 4 …early … So flew the souls to their congenial place …
Here , Then souls holding hope in the midst of despair … Tearful flower petals seek warmth around the flames of the burning candles …
Barcelona was as beautiful as always but there was a bitter feeling in the atmosphere especially in the night.
Nevertheless, the “Magic Fountain” in the foothills of Montjuïc was illuminating the Night & Soul … Water Sculptures & Light became one with the black sky … The Golden Doric columns were alike the remaining columns of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi ; I stepped into the Light again and enjoyed the show …
Font Màgica work of Art, Music, Water, Motion and Colour
When work on the Great Universal Exhibition of 1929 was under way, the organisers felt that it needed something nouveau …
It was then when Carles Buigas submitted his project for a colossal, daring and costly piece of work. His concept heralded the discovery of a new art,the art of light. The fountain plant has 3,000 jets shooting water in the air and creating diverse water sculptures, which are illuminated with the lighting system of 8 different colours, and dance to the sound of music. The colourful shapes of water keep dancing to classical music, they celebrate the joys of life, their performance is magical, they help people forget for a while that all is evanescent …
And,in daytime Sagrada Família is soaring skywards and towards the congenial place where the souls go.
Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family, is a large unfinished Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí ( 1852–1926) ; Gaudí’s work on the building is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Sagrada Família, inspired by nature and faith, has been under construction since 1882. It’s now in the final phase, with another 11 years until completion.
The Sagrada Familia is an International centre for Spirituality which invites people of all backgrounds and Faiths to share in a sense of Life based on Love,Peace & Harmony.

Dearest Doda, I must apologise for having been remiss in reading your beautiful post until today. Having not posted on my blog for several weeks, I know I have missed so much – but I am determined to finish my book very soon!
It’s lovely to see you back, as your last post was just a ‘flying visit’, if I recall. I’m so glad to have read this wonderful tribute to the innocent ‘souls’ who fell victim to the dreadful attack on that day. Barcelona has always been a beautiful city, and will remain so well into the future, despite such heinous attacks as this.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely photos of this historic city. It’s many years since I visited Barcelona (the first time was in 1959 and the second in 1970. I was the grand age of 12 in 1959!). I’ve been to other parts of Spain many times since then and hope to see Barcelona again one day. I confess to knowing nothing about the Sagrada Familia and its lengthy construction time! I will make a point of visiting it, and the Magic Fountain when I get there.
Your final line sums up perfectly the feelings of so many of us worldwide, Doda. It is something we should all pray for. Hugs to you… ❤ 😀

There’s no need for apologies dearest Millie,I very well know how busy you’re,and I do appreciate the fact that you responded. Many thanks for your feedback and your long, generous comment.Happy to see that I stirred up childhood, and not only, memories.Truly,it’s a city with a long history behind, and a great hodiday destination. One can see and do so many interesting things. What a pity the political situation is so unsteable at the moment.Hope they remain united although Catalonia was an independent region of the Iberian Peninsula with its own language, laws and customs.Let’s pray for them, there’s nothing worse than national split.Hugs back to you 🙂 ❤ xxx

I sincerely hope Catalonia remains as part of Spain. I think it would struggle nowadays as an independent region, but I’m not a Catalonian and I know passions run deep over these things. Whatever happens next, like you, I just hope it’s achieved by peaceful means. ❤

The delicacy of your touch is felt, dear Doda, even as you intimate the echoes of tragedy: that bitterness tasted in the late evening air. Moving to more recent events in Catalan, then I was appalled to see the actions of the Guardia Civil on the day of the referendum. Somehow, it seemed more frightening than the mass killing in Las Vegas, which I know is a controversial thing to say. The latter, at least was understandable: a lone psychopath at work. The former, with far reaching consequences, and echoing a dreadful past. H ❤

A wonderful post dear Doda.. Perfectly timed for many events around our world today.. Fate takes many, yet each perfect petal is still part of the flower and each flower is part of the bouquet that we are able to pick from Our Wonderful Garden of Life.. We are all of us growing, all be it in our separate fields..
Each may hold a different shape, a different colour, and belong to a different species.. Yet we each need nourishment, we all grow out of darkness, and we all reach up towards the light..
Barcelona is a beautiful place, I have been in the 90’s and such magnificent architecture. Its people were friendly ..
My heart was with them this week..
But I truly hold the belief that while there are those who hold peace, love and Unity at ones core.. We can help create those ripples outwards to spread across the world..
Your photo’s are stunning, and good to see a post from you again Doda.. and welcome back..
Love and Mega Hugs my friend..

It’s expected to be finished in 2026,on the 100-year anniversary of Gaudi’s death. It’d be lovely if we manage to see it finished and without the cranes around it.A real revolutionary masterpiece of architecture based on the traditions of Gothic and Byzantine cathedrals.

Troubled the era we live in,even those who are not personally responsible for the fate of the world, are called on to encounter it,to come to know the true face of the situation;it’s the commencement of the end,our world can’t bear more.Memories and feelings of our days weep … Btw,it was thrilling to listen to Vangelis’-Antarctica as the gushing fountains spread the water skywards.Love & blessings back to you Cybele dear 🙂

Never doubt that even a small group of thoughtful, committed humans can bring the change.I was taught in my life that “Today’s Utopia Is Tomorrow’s Reality”.The time of the Light approaches, dear Sue,let’s follow in the steps one by one, without haste, because the edifice of the New Age should be based on solid foundations, which will not be shaken again,as the power of the people grows. We’ll manage to touch the essence, the utopian human dream,my friend.Keep spreading the “Light” and your strong messages in your brilliant posts and soon you’ll reap what you sow, exactly as you do in your fertile allotments.Much love back to you 🙂

Such a timely post, dear Doda. There is so much senseless evil in this world. But it’s nothing new nor nothing we haven’t been taught in the scriptures. The Lord will not take away anyone’s agency, even if it means they will seal their fate to the devil. That unfinished Catholic Church is amazing and so beautiful. What a beautiful tribute to God. We must always look up and remember God’s time is not our time. As you probably have heard, so many innocent people in Las Vegas had their lives cut short. And yet we must always remain optimistic as God is ultimately in charge. My apologies, dear Doda. I did not mean to make this some sort of mini-sermon. My heart is full for those around the world striving for peace and to live righteously during these difficult times.
