Hidden Treasures & the Story of the Potter Wasp in the Garden

 

 

Our painter was the Archaeologist & me,the Curator of a museum with potteryware.Of course,we never painted the wooden door underneath …

She was diligently and silently working under the wooden door next to the garden,but we had never taken notice of her.I had seen her feeding on floral nectar and drinking water,she is a great pollinator too.Who could have imagined what she was up to?Once,she was under the barbeque shed and near a Black Hole ready to get into her private appartment.I had then checked out the barbeque space and it all seemed as if the great Pollinator & Potter were on the Red Planet.

 

 

But,the great Nest Builder had other plans,she had decided to decorate our wooden door with a whole series of pots in a row,to show off her amazing skills and techniques.Superb structures!Don’t they look like ancient Amphoras?

 

 

It’s said that their nests of mud,strengthened with their saliva,have therapeutic properties for skin infections,rashes & other diseases.

We all know about folk medicine which had been used for thousands of years before drug companies and industrial,synthetic medicine took over.

Art by Friendly,Harmless Insects in the garden,who happily buzz and collect mud to build their “amphoras” in sheltered spots.There’s room in the garden for every Flower and Insect.

And,while Ms Potter was silently working,Hermes and I were collecting Rose Hips from our Dog Rose to make herbal infusions and jam.

 

 

 

 

Once we finished,I brought out a blue platter to put our rose hips on and asked Hermes to sit on his favourite garden table,which is made of Lava from the Stratovolcano of Mount Etna and it’s painted by an Italian artist.In the meantime, I was thinking of blending the rose hips with some Claude Monet rose petals I had collected from a painting in Albertina – Museum in Vienna.They would perfectly mix together and make our jam sophisticated …

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The compound I had imagined was ready and made Hermes and me gratified in the retreat of the soul,in our garden,where we commune with nature and observe her wonders.

 

I love mixing and correlating the state of affairs to make life beautiful, in and outside the garden.
